A little more personal...

Danielle Alexandra Valdes has been singing professionally since she was thirteen years old, getting her start with her father's Big Band, Al Altieri & the Taste of Brass. In fact, she comes from a very musical family (both of her brothers are very accomplished musicians)! She has enjoyed singing with her brother, Alex (who also happens to be her favorite accompanist), in Cabaret Clubs in NYC: Eighty-Eights and Danny's Skylight Room. Two years before 9/11 she had the opportunity to sing at Windows on the World, and has performed two of her own cabaret shows at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre. One of her fondest memories is singing at The Concord Resort Hotel. That is where she gained most of her experience with her father and his band, and where the Vice President of Epic Records came up to her and offered her a job! She flew to California, recorded "Yet in My Dreams" for Greg Adam's solo CD Hidden Agenda (available on Epic Records- now SONY MUSIC), went on to teach Music and Chorus full-time while in her Senior year of college, graduated with a BA in Music Education, receiving High Honors, and landed the title roles in two National Tours back to back: Beauty and the Beast, '97; and The Little Prince '98. She has performed in two original productions and has recorded the original soundtracks for Off-Off Broadway's: Heart Throb and SIN! and has worked as a singer for the NY Dinner Theatre within the Tri-state Area. Other Regional Credits incude: Faith, Brooklyn, the Musical; Lily St. Regis- Annie, Tzeitel- Fiddler on the Roof Jaques Brel is Alive and Well..., Rosie- Bye, Bye Birdie, Hedy La Rue-How to Succeed and Pam Sakarian in the musical, Baby... to name a few. She started teaching private voice lessons about twenty years ago, and seventeen years ago, since her students of all ages kept multiplying, her friend gave her the idea of creating a small business of her own: Voice Lessons, Plus.... By Danielle. She has worked as a Choral Conductor and continues to work as a mother, teacher, Musical Director, Recording Artist, Music, Art and Movement teacher ages 2mos-5 yrs, and is a Certified Fitness and Kickboxing Instructor.

My Mission

“My mission is to give every singer confidence in his/her voice, whether it be to sing on stage at school, karaoke at a party or professionally on Broadway. Singing is an art form that encompasses all forms of expression. We don't just use our voices to sing. We use our bodies, minds and souls. I teach so that I can give this complete experience to my students and foster a love of singing that will benefit and last a lifetime.” ~Danielle Valdes
